Kites

Kite Surf Kites

Designed to be re-launchable from water. Most use pre-inflated bladders to give the kite form and buoyancy. Often called “C kites” as this is the shape they take when inflated. The C-shape gives natural stability and good water re-launch. The newer generation of kitesurf kites are often known as Bow kites. These use some bridling to improve the efficiency of this shape getting more power from less size.

De-Powerable Kites

This is an increasingly important section of kites developed with knowledge from kite surfing and paragliding. These traction kites are ideal for snowboarding and landboarding. They require the pilot to wear a harness and are controlled with a bar. The main power lines pass through the bar and attach to the harness, the rear or steering lines attach to the ends of the bar. When the pilot pulls the bar the kite will alter its angle of attack and pull harder, when the bar is pushed away the kite feathers and the pull is reduced. In the future we will see these designs developed for all aspects of kiting. This technology allows one kite to perform well in a huge wind range.

High Performance Kites

High Performance traction kites – these kites have been designed and re-designed to give maximum performance. They are supplied kite only (with a UFO sand stake), but we can package them with suitable lines and handles/bars depending on your needs.

Intermediate Level Kites

Intermediate price - performance quad-line traction kites. We have confidence in the quality and performance; they have been designed to fly well. All these kites are supplied complete with lines, handles and a UFO sand stake. Small and mid size designs all fly well, if you need a serious light wind tool you should look at the High Performance Kites.

Entry Level Kites

Low cost - Entry Level quad line traction kites. All of these kites are supplied complete with lines, handles/bar and a UFO sand stake. These are more basic designs that generally fly well in smaller sizes. You should avoid the larger sizes as they lack efficiency. These kites are designed to a price, if you want good value and performance look at the intermediate section.

Stunt Kites

From the simple soft foil to the most advanced hand built performance stunt delta kite.
